The Character of Motsoetsana in my novel, The Twins of Demeter

In the featured picture below, Motsoetsana is walking her two Ris cats Akila and Aziza on the cliffs above the Sea of Daniel on the planet her community called Dinah. Motsoetsana is translated as “Cat Woman” in the language of Sesotho, the written and spoken language of the Bantu people of Africa. The similarity of Sesotho to the language of the community of Chacandor Ris was used to communicate with the off-world earthlings of the community of Andromeda and, through their powerful form of artificial intelligence, the two communities learned to communicate using Sesotho as an intermediary.

Mostoetsana is a pivotal character in The Twins of Demeter. She becomes the leader of the joining of the two communities and leads them through the arduous process of leaving one planet for its twin when Dinah devolves and cannot support life.

The picture above was painted by the author of the book, Twins of Demeter, in acrylic paints. The painting was photographed and then processed in photoshop to become a compatible image for this website. As with all of the children born from stasis chambers in the Andromeda community, Motsoetsana is of mixed racial heritage. She has African-American ancestory as well as other racial and ethnic heritage.
